Portuguese Carnival

The Carnival is a period of festivities governed by lunar years of Christian in the Middle Ages. The period of Carnival was marked by ‘goodbye to meat’ or ‘meat worth’ giving rise to the term ‘carnival’.
During the carnival there was a high concentration of popular celebrations. Each city to play their way, according to their customs.
The modern carnival, parades and costumes made of, is the product of Victorian society of the nineteenth century.
